Energy Efficiency

Energy Audits can play a role in helping homeowners and businesses reduce their overhead costs.  The goal is to find energy saving opportunities to help save you money. After an initial energy audit you will be able to make an informed decision. Every dollar invested in an energy-efficient upgrade can potentially save you $3.00 to $5.00 dollars on the cost of installing a Photovoltaic system on your property. If you are interested in saving utility costs in either a residential or commercial property, Good Electric, Inc. can help you in performing a Screening Survey, whether you proceed with a Solar Installation or not, you can reduce your energy bills.

One of our products  is the “EcoPower 4” a power conditioning piece of equipment that can be added to a residential circuit breaker panel. If you have a two spare opening in your existing electrical panel we can install this device in about a ½ hour for a nominal charge. We also have a recessed model that can be installed flush with the wall. The installation time takes a little more than an hour. If you say yes to two or more of the following the questions the EcoPower 4 can save you energy costs.

  • Is your forced air furnace 4 or more years old?
  • Do you have a pool?
  • Do you use a window air conditioner?
  • Is your refrigerator/freezer not Energy Star rated?
  • Do you have more than one refrigerator/freezer?
  • Is your washer/dryer not Energy Star rated?
  • Do you have a hot tub or Jacuzzi?
  • Is your dishwasher not Energy Star rated?
  • Do you use ceiling fans?

The Eco Power 4, along with energy savings, the unit includes a full system Surge Protection for your home and has a 10 year warranty to cover damaged electronics or appliances up to $25,000, in the event a damaging electrical spike or surge should occur.

Lighting can use up to 20% of your energy usage. Changing your light bulbs to compact fluorescent and LED bulbs is another good way to save energy. LED bulbs are relatively new to the market and use less electricity than compact fluorescents. We can help you determine the right lighting choices for your needs.

Motion sensors can also help you reduce energy costs. Do you have family members who leave lights on when they leave a room? Do you have a business where you have the lighting on even though you have no employee’s working in that area? Motion sensors can be adjusted to automatically turn on when they detect a person’s presence and the lighting can be pre-set to turn off after a certain amount of time after motion is no longer detected. We can help you determine where motion detectors can work best for you.
